Worship in the Sanctuary: Promotion Sundae

This is a very special Sunday at Birmingham UMC as we cool off and kick off the new school year.
BACKPACK BLESSINGS & TREEHOUSE PROMOTIONS
During worship service at 10 a.m.
All preschool and elementary kids are invited to bring their backpacks for a special blessing as they step into the new school year. Each child will receive a special backpack tag to remind them that God goes with them wherever they go. After the blessings, they will explore their new Sunday School classrooms as they move up to their new grade!
SIXTH GRADE WALK UP
During worship service at 10 a.m.
At the end of worship, we will pray for our new sixth graders, and they will walk up with all the youth as they are officially welcomed into the Youth Ministry at BUMC! This is a joyful tradition with a lot of meaning to the youth.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL FOR ALL
Immediately following the worship service in the Cloister
Hang out with your church friends (or make new ones!), and make your own ice cream sundae, hosted by our amazing Congregational Care Committee. This is for EVERYONE, kids and kids at heart.
The worship service at Birmingham UMC is one of a kind. We blend traditional elements such as the Apostle’s Creed & a full choir singing hymns with a modern praise band. In fact, it’s one of the things people love most about our church—there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
Worship begins at 10 a.m. on Sundays. There is coffee available in the Cloister before and after service.
CHILDREN
Nursery is available on the lower level of the Education Building.
Children preschool through 5th grade will start in the service with their parents. After the Children’s Moment, they will go with their teachers to the lower level of the Education Building to have Sunday School. You will pick up your children at the end of the service there. YOUTH
Youth are encouraged to worship with their families at 10 a.m. There is youth programming in the Student Center at 11:15 a.m. You can find out more about our Student Ministries here.
