Finding your community at Birmingham UMC will include you finding a group that is the right one for you! Luckily, we have a lot to choose from: Sunday Schools after worship, groups that meet throughout the week, and groups that meet monthly, for all ages and stages of life. Many active Sunday School classes meet after the worship service at 11:15 a.m. These groups provide an opportunity to create a community for yourself at Birmingham UMC and dig deeper into your faith. Need help plugging into the right one? Ask Pastor Sam for help.
There are a variety of women’s groups here at Birmingham UMC for different ages and stages. They include: a group for moms, a large and small group Bible studies, and special events. These groups are open to members of the community, so anyone is welcome to come.
The highlight of our men’s ministry is Men’s Grill, a roughly once-a-month chance to gather for food, fellowship, and a special guest speaker. The meet on Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. Check their page or the calendar for the exact dates.
The music ministry is so much more than singing in the choir (although that is a part of it, too!). Under the direction of Jan Eaton, there are opportunities for bell ringers, dramatic readings, and more throughout the year as a way to use your talents.
We have a vibrant prayer ministry at Birmingham UMC including a dedicated prayer room off the Sanctuary, and a monthly drop-in prayer gathering for anyone to stop by who needs some extra encouragement.
