At Birmingham UMC, our congregation is active in both local and international missions. This is one way that we make a difference in the world by showing the love of God. For more information about how to get involved in any of the mission areas below, please contact Rev. Dr. Jennifer Wyant, Associate Pastor.
This VBS (June 14-17) the kids are bringing school supplies and raising money for UMCOR. What is UMCOR? UMCOR is the United Methodist Committee on Relief. UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – be it famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events – to alleviate suffering and to be a source of help and hope for those left most vulnerable. UMCOR School Kits provides access to books and essential school supplies. In some areas, classes are held in inadequate buildings. School kits may be some children’s only educational resource.
Lots of ways!
Make your own bags and drop them at church. Watch this video to see the instructions.
Order off the Amazon Wishlist. Your supplies will be delivered to the church.
Make a monetary donation. We will need money to ship the school kits after they are assembled. And any money left over we will donate directly to UMCOR. You can give online. Please be sure to note it is for missions.
