Birmingham UMC is fired up for an incredible mission opportunity this summer! From June 6–13, 2026, we’re heading to the Four Corners region of New Mexico to serve alongside the Navajo people, and we want YOU to be part of it.
The spark for this trip came when John Ousley shared his powerful experience serving as a chaplain near Shiprock, NM, with the Men’s Grill earlier this year. His stories opened our eyes to the deep needs—and the beautiful, hopeful work—happening in the Navajo Nation. The BUMC Mission Committee quickly sensed that God might be nudging us to step out in faith and step into this ministry.
Each summer brings church-wide project to make lunches for MUST Ministries. MUST feeds hungry kids in seven north Atlanta counties with a nutritious meal each summer weekday. These children who normally depend on the school lunch program during the school year for nutrition.
Ambassadors for Christ International (AFCI) was founded on the belief that Christian nationals living and working in their own countries provide the best foundation for the church to thrive and grow. Each national team has its own ministry focus, but all of us are committed to the vision of AFCI, which is “Teams of Nationals accelerating the spread of the Gospel through local churches worldwide.
Birmingham UMC supports the ministries of NFCC (North Fulton Community Charities) through several different means. Recently, the congregation stocked the food pantry & hosted a School Backpack Ministry where we collected backpacks and school supplies for middle schoolers.
