Any sixth-grader through high school senior is welcome at events. Some are specifically for middle school or high school, but unless otherwise noted, all we welcome!
If you have questions please reach out to Chris Moss, Director of Youth Ministry at chris@birminghamumc.org.
Sunday AM is a gathering point in the Student Center (chapel right on Birmingham Highway) immediately following the corporate 10 a.m. service in the main Sanctuary building. It is open to all sixth through twelfth graders.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Breakfast, announcements about upcoming events, dig into Scripture as a large group, followed by discussions in smaller groups.
Parents, if you are looking for something to do during this time, we have several Sunday School classes that meet — including one for Parents of Teens! For more information please visit our Sunday School information.
Where? Fellowship Hall
When? 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
All youth from sixth grade to twelfth grade are welcome to Youth Sunday Nights! From 5:30 to 6 p.m., all youth will share a snack supper together. At 6 p.m., middle and high school will split up for games, Scripture lessons, and small group discussions. Sunday nights are best for creating a community of our youth and volunteers to learn, support and encourage one another!
An easy way to support the BUMC Youth Ministry is to bring a meal for the middle schoolers and high schoolers to share on Sunday mornings and Sunday nights. Plan for roughly 20 kids.
Breakfast ideas include: donuts, pastries, fruit, biscuits & breakfast casseroles
Snack Supper ideas include: pizza, sandwich platter, casseroles, chicken nuggets
Confirmation is the process by which those baptized as infants or young children (or those who couldn’t make baptismal vows themselves) make their first public declaration of faith. In essence, they confirm their beliefs and prepare for full membership in The United Methodist Church.
In simpler terms, Confirmation is a valuable experience where we explore and deepen our faith. It provides an opportunity for your son or daughter to learn more about Christianity and the United Methodist denomination. At the end of the Confirmation season, participants who have not been baptized will have the chance to be baptized and all will be able to make their own commitment to Christ and officially join the church.
