Maundy Thursday: The Living Last Supper
April 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Step into the story of Holy Week in a powerful and personal way at Birmingham UMC this Maundy Thursday (April 2).
Throughout the evening, the Student Center (chapel on Birmingham Hwy) will be open for a meaningful drop-in experience centered around Holy Communion and reflection. Come at any time, move at your own pace, and allow yourself to enter the sacredness of the night Jesus gathered with the disciples.
What to Expect:
- Drop-in Holy Communion (all are welcome to receive in the United Methodist Church)
- A living vignette of the Last Supper, thoughtfully portrayed by youth and volunteers
- Space to reflect on what that night may have felt like for the disciples
- Access to the interactive Holy Week Prayer Stations designed by the BUMC Youth
A beautifully staged scene of the Last Supper will be set up, offering a visual and embodied reflection on that holy evening, the tension, the tenderness, the betrayal, and the love. Our youth and volunteers have prepared this experience as an invitation to slow down and imagine the weight and wonder of that night when Jesus broke bread and gave a new commandment: to love one another.
The interactive prayer stations will also remain open, allowing you to continue in guided reflection, prayer, and preparation as we journey toward the cross and the hope of resurrection. You can find out more about the Prayer Stations here.
Whether you stay for a few minutes or linger longer, this is an opportunity to pause, receive grace, and remember Christ’s sacrificial love during this sacred week.
