THE JOY OF GIVING

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Giving to God is a source of joy! God uses our gifts to transform the lives of others. Our tithes and offerings fund the ministries of BUMC and help make our beautiful grounds and facilities places of joy. People find joy walking our trails. Children find joy in the Treehouse each Sunday morning. Youth find joy in having a safe space to escape the pressures of their world. Worshipers find joy praising God in song on Sunday mornings. Listeners find joy hearing God’s Word proclaimed. People find joy learning God’s truths together, sharing fellowship with one another, and helping our neighbors in need.

This year BUMC has set the audacious goal of having 200 completed estimates of giving from households in our congregation! To meet that goal, we need you! Begin the process by praying and assessing your income and giving level. We ask that you complete the estimate of giving card below or bring the physical one with you to worship on Sunday, October 29. Ultimately, your commitment to give is between you and God — letting us know is a convenience to help us budget for our ministries and programs for 2024.
