LIVING RICHLY

In 2026, we invite you to live richly by deepening your faith and fulfilling your membership vows at Birmingham UMC through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

Living Richly isn’t about having more. It’s about living with gratitude, generosity, and purpose in Christ.

This season, consider one way to grow in your faith and live out your vows alongside your financial commitment.

Your presence at worship – in person or online – is important for your spiritual discipline.

If you choose presence as a way to live richly in 2026, we encourage you to set a goal for yourself for worship attendance. Indicate that goal on the form below.

Prayer means staying connected to God through conversation and reflection. We are blessed to have a powerful Prayer Team at Birmingham UMC.

By living richly through prayer in 2026, we will send you prompts from the Prayer Team each month to help you engage in prayer. Other ideas would be: attending the monthly drop-in prayer gatherings, visiting the prayer room, or even becoming a member of the prayer team!

Witness means sharing God’s love through your words and actions; it means living your faith out loud. Being a part of a discipleship group helps you grow in faith and carry your witness beyond the church walls. Consider how God is calling you to take your witness further in 2026.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Meet weekly right after worship on Sundays. For a list of current classes, click here.

SMALL GROUPS
Meet weekly at different times throughout the week. We are committed to starting more small groups in 2026.

BIBLE STUDIES
Meet weekly (typically) and can be for couples, men, or women. Many already exist, and we are committed to starting more.

EXHALE is a group for moms that meets monthly and participates in serving the community. Learn more about Exhale here.

MEN’S GRILL meets monthly with food and speakers to develop a community among men in our area. Learn more about Men’s Grill here.

Maybe you are already involved in a discipleship group, and your next step is to become a LEADER.

You can also invite a friend or neighbor to church as a part of witness; tell a friend how God has transformed your life; and live your life outside the church walls by following the example of Jesus.

Service means using your unique gifts to serve God and others. Each of us has something different to offer, whether it’s teaching, hospitality, or a listening ear. When we all do our part, we help build God’s kingdom here on earth.

Consider how you can use your talents to deepen your connection with the church, the community, and the world. See the form below for some service opportunities, but not all. If there is something specifically on your heart, we invite you to tell us about it!

The amount you give isn’t as important as the practice of giving regularly and faithfully.

How much you give is between you and God. Your generosity helps transform lives and grow God’s kingdom, allowing the church to use our Sanctuary, ministries, and programs to follow where God leads.

Below is a tithe chart to help you reflect and plan. It’s simply a tool to guide your intentional, prayerful giving, a meaningful step in your journey of faith and generosity.

Thank you for your prayerful commitment. If you have questions about giving please reach out to Amanda Hamilton, Finance Administrator at amanda@birminghamumc.org.
