Birmingham UMC is a church that people call home. Our campus is a sanctuary for the human soul, healing space for those who are hurting, and a place where people meet God. We grow deeper and flourish in our relationships with Jesus Christ and with each other through worship, discipleship, service, family ministries and community events. This transforms individual lives, families, and our community, creating one rooted in prayer and marked by love.
The church is located at 15770 Birmingham Highway in Milton, Georgia–just south of the intersection of Birmingham Highway and Birmingham Road. There are two entrances onto the property.
The Sanctuary and Education Building are in the main building located toward the back of our 63-acre property.
To find the main building from the north entrance, drive past the Student Center/Chapel, then by the ballfield into the main parking lot. The main building will be on the right.
If you enter from the south entrance, you will pass the Memorial Gardens into the main parking lot. Visitor parking is available.
We love kids! If you have a young child, there is a cry room in the Sanctuary where you can still see & hear the service. Nursery (birth – 5 years old) is available at both 10 a.m. for worship and 11:15 a.m. for Sunday School downstairs of the education building.
Elementary-aged children will start with their parents in worship. They will leave for Sunday School after the Children’s Moment in the service and head with their teachers to the downstairs of the education building. At 11:15 a.m. elementary-aged children will stay downstairs with different programming.
There is a check-in system in the Narthex and downstairs. Please be sure to print a nametag for your child! If this is your first time, welcome! And someone will help you get all set up and checked in!
All youth are encouraged to worship with their families at 10 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
At 11:15 a.m. middle & high school students will meet in the Student Center (by Birmingham Highway) for breakfast and small groups. To learn more about the youth program click here.
Our worship service at Birmingham UMC is one of a kind. We blend traditional elements such as the Apostles’ Creed & a full choir singing hymns with a modern praise band. In fact, it’s one of the things people love most about our church – there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
Birmingham UMC is located on 63 acres, two thirds of which are set aside in a natural setting as a sanctuary, a venue for one’s spirit to rest and recreate.
There are three miles of hiking trails, streams, footbridges, many gathering spaces, an outdoor Vesper Chapel, a large outdoor amphitheater, a baseball field and plenty of room for individuals and small groups to experience private time with God.
Rev. Mike Morgan was appointed to Birmingham UMC in July 2022. He previously has served four appointments in the North Georgia Conference and three in the South Georgia Conference. Birmingham UMC is United Methodist Church. We are committed to making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We serve our community and help people grow in their faith.
As Methodists, we believe in a Triune God; in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. We believe in God’s grace, which is offered to all people. For this reason, our Communion table is open to all people who desire to partake in the Lord’s Supper. As a United Methodist Church, we uphold the United Methodist Book of Discipline, which guides our church structure and leadership. This book is derived from the teachings and methods of John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement.
