SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27

HANGING OF THE GREENS
10 a.m. in the Sanctuary

The official kick-off to Advent here at Birmingham UMC — an interactive service with music, Scripture, decorating, and more! 

Nursery will be available for birth to preschool-aged children. Elementary kids are encouraged to stay in the service with their families and will be asked to participate at various points during the service. 

ADVENT WREATH WORKSHOP
11:15 a.m. in the Cloister

Immediately following the Hanging of the Greens, join us in the Cloister for an advent wreath making workshop with Bruce and Denise Baird. All ages and skill levels are welcome. 

All supplies provided except greenery. Collect some from your home and suggestions include: twigs, berries and cones. 

If there are any kits left over, they will be available in the office starting Monday, Nov 28.

CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CONCERT
4:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the Cloister

Come at 4:30 p.m. for kids’ activities. The Concert will start at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 6:30 p.m. with the tree lighting. The Sanctuary Worship Band will be performing with special guests Sydney Rose, Christopher Alan Yates and Ivan Duke. 

This event is free and open to anyone! 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4

TREEHOUSE GINGERBREAD HOUSES
11:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall

All kids and families are welcome!

Stay after the worship service on December 4 for the beloved BUMC tradition of making gingerbread houses! Please sign up below to let us know you are attending and bring a sweet topping to share. Also, save those half-gallon milk cartons for us! Bring them on Sunday mornings or drop them by the church office.

YOUTH PROGRESSIVE DINNER
Meet at the Student Center 5 to 8:30 p.m.

You can’t celebrate Christmas in the BUMC youth program without a Progressive Dinner. It’s just not proper. Join us for this great youth tradition this Sunday evening as we travel to different homes in the church community to enjoy appetizers, dinner, and dessert! We end the night back at the youth building to have a Christmas game together. This event is a staple for our program and we would love to have every single one of you join us for this wonderful Christmas celebration!

THE LIVING NATIVITY
a walk to Bethlehem
4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

This year's The Living Nativity will be different than years before. Experience a walk through the beloved Christmas story as you discover light in the darkness. This event is geared toward the old, young, and everyone in between!
