This Advent, there are lots of ways for you to find a thrill of hope at Birmingham UMC. Concerts, messy fun and Christmas traditions abound. Rejoice!

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28

HANGING OF THE GREENS
10A.M. in the Sanctuary

The official kick-off to Advent here at Birmingham UMC. We’re trying something new – an interactive service with music, Scripture, decorating and more! 

Nursery will be available for birth through preschool aged children. Elementary kids are encouraged to stay in the service with their families and will be asked to participate at various points during the service. 

ADVENT WREATH WORKSHOP
11A.M. in the Cloister

Immediately following the Hanging of the Greens, join us in the Cloister for an advent wreath making workshop with Bruce and Denise Baird. All ages and skill levels are welcome. 

All supplies provided except greenery. Collect some from your home and suggestions include: twigs, berries and cones. 

Please sign up to help us prepare supplies. If you forget to sign up, please come anyway! If there are any kits left over, they will be available in the office starting Monday, Nov 29.

TREE LIGHTING CONCERT
5:30P.M. in the Cloister

The Sanctuary Worship Band and special guest will get us all in the holiday spirit with special music ending in the tree lighting in the Cloister.

THE LIVING NATIVITY
a walk to Bethlehem
4:30 to 7P.M.

This year's The Living Nativity will be different than years before. Experience a walk through the beloved Christmas story as you discover a thrill of hope in different sections. This event is geared towards the old, young and everyone in between! It also takes a lot of volunteers to make this event a success. Consider signing up to help below.

GIFT CARD DONATIONS

This year's Advent Mission is collecting gift cards. Your donations will be split between:

We are requesting each gift card be in the amount of $25. So, if you want to give more, just buy more gift cards! Preferred cards are: VISA, American Express, Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger and Publix.

As a church, we keep gift cards on hand for those in our community that reach out with specific needs for food, gas, etc. Our stash will be used as those missional opportunities arise.
