INTERSECTION AHEAD
WEEKEND (MAY 2-4)

Please help us make this special weekend even more successful and enjoyable by bringing that necessary item - food. On Friday and Saturday nights we will have covered dish meals. Meat will be provided but we need the participants to contribute the “sides.” Check the following list to see what you can bring one night - or even better - both nights, based on letter of your last name:
A-G Vegetable
H-R Salad
S-Z Dessert
If anyone would like to bring a meat dish it would be welcomed also. Thank you for your generosity and help for this incredible weekend experience.

Youth Intersection Ahead Weekend
You don’t want to miss it! While adults experience a life-changing weekend here at BUMC, so will our youth. Join in the special activities that have been planned for Friday night through Sunday afternoon that will transform lives. A Friday night cookout will kick off the weekend and there will be a time of worship and listening to amazing life stories from Georgia teens. The Saturday morning coffee will be a great time of fellowship and sharing of faith. Sunday morning youth services at 9:30 and 11:00 will be the ultimate sharing experience. All events are in the Youth Chapel. Finally, we would love to see your whole family back at the church on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. for a combined time of sharing stories of heartaches and struggles as well as joys and victories. Please save the dates - May 2-4!

REV. GONZALO GUARDIOLA
Rev. Guardiola lives in Apodaca, Mexico, with his wife, Grace, and son, Marcos. Gonzalo is an ordained pastor of the United Methodist Church. Our relationship with Gonzalo began when founding members of SERV Ministries helped build a church for him and his congregation in the summer of 2000. In 2004, SERV built the Pan de Vida (Bread of Life) Outreach Center and Gonzalo was appointed as its pastor. A few years ago his status changed from a UMC pastor to a SERV Ministries Missionary Pastor and our Director of Mexico Ministries and he continues to serve as the pastor of Pan de Vida. The ministries of Pan de Vida include: worship services, Bible studies and cell groups, marriage and spiritual retreats, children’s soccer teams and music lessons, and a feeding program that provides a hot lunch to 200+ children three days a week. All of this is accomplished by the grace of God through Gonzalo and his congregation (most of whom live in what we consider poverty) and through SERV’s faithful supporters. Gonzalo plays an integral leadership role in SERV and, in addition to his responsibilities in Mexico, has participated in mission work in the U.S., the Dominican Republic and Kenya.

OPEN DOORS, OPEN HEARTS
Take it to the Limit - A six-part message series for those whose schedules are too full and whose checking accounts are too empty! Our culture encourages us to live as if we have no limits. So we fill up our schedules and empty our bank accounts. Life on the edge means life with no margin. Life without margin is a recipe for personal disaster. Together, we will explore God's answer to our self-destructive propensity to live as if we have no limits. This series is at 9:45 on Sunday mornings. For questions, contact Jenifer Saunders at jandksaunders@comcast.net or 770.475.1622.

BUMC SINGLES LUNCH
Please join us after the 11:00 a.m. service on May 18. We will meet in the cloister and go to I Love New York Pizza next to Publix.

DAVE RAMSEY FPU PREVIEW
Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University is coming to BUMC this fall. But there's no need to wait. Take control of your financial future tday! Read Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover" or check out Dave's website, www.daveramsey.com.
▪ Getting out of debt will not happen overnight; it takes time. Here are the Baby Steps that will get you started: (1) $1000 emergency fund; (2) Pay off all non-mortgage debt with debt snowball; (3) 3 to 6 months expenses in savings; (4) 15% of income invested for retirement; (5) college funding; (6) pay off home early; (7) build wealth and give! Giving is an important part of FPU. According to Dave, "The idea of holding money with an open hand might seem to violate common sense. We feel that if we don’t hold on tightly to our money and our relationships, they will slip away. I’m not saying literally hold your money with an open hand – it represents our attitude toward money. When you give, you open yourself up. You allow the dollars to leave and the freedom to enter.”
▪ Giving works because it is in your personal blueprint to be a giver, and you unleash good things in your life that you will never see until you learn the art of unselfish giving. Giving lifts us out of ourselves; we take our eyes off our rights, our problems, and our stuff. The new view gives us renewed vision and hope. Giving is powerful."

CHATS ROOM!
There is a room designated for informal fellowship, a place to get questions answered, connect over coffee, and sign up for small groups from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. each Sunday. (between services).
Church leaders will be there.
Where? Left side of Narthex
Why? To meet and greet you and chat!
Who? For everyone!
