Prayer Ministry

At BUMC we believe prayer changes things. Our Prayer Ministry offers members and visitors alike opportunities to strengthen their faith through prayer.

PRAYER TRAIL APP

The outdoor Prayer Trail on the BUMC campus is one way to engage in prayer and quiet time with God. The Prayer Trail coincides with a Prayer Trail App that can be accessed on any phone or device. The app will guide you to meditate on Scriptures, inspirational thoughts and questions at various stations on the trail. The App features four Prayer Trail options:

  • Peace
  • Hope and Healing
  • Children and Family
  • Drawing Near to God

SMALL GROUP PRAYER

Each Thursday morning, a group gathers in the Sanctuary to pray for our church staff and ministries. Anyone is invited and all are encouraged to join us as you have opportunity. For more information, contact Linda Witzigreuter at 678.880.0047.

Evening of Prayer Logo.jpg

The Evening of Prayer is a special, drop-in prayer time that takes place the first Thursday of each month. If you or someone you know has a special prayer need, we invite you to come anytime between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. The length of time each person spends at the service varies. You may pray alone or with a prayer team member. All requests are kept confidential.

Next Evening of Prayer: Thursday, September 7

Instructions for the Service

Once you arrive at the church, go to the Sanctuary. In the Narthex, a volunteer will greet you and ask for some information. You will then move to a pew in the Sanctuary where you will have time to pray by yourself. As you are praying, volunteers will pray over you (most often from another location in the Sanctuary). At an appointed time, you are welcome to pray with a prayer ministry volunteer. After this prayer time, you may take Communion. These steps are optional based on your comfort level. Whatever your need, come prepared to feel the presence of God!

Are any among you sick?
They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.
