Dave Benson, Senior Pastor

Dave is a native of Georgia and has lived most of his life in the metro-Atlanta area. After graduating from college with a degree in Music, he spent a few years working as a musical instrument sales rep before entering full-time youth ministry. In 1993, Dave answered the call to ordained ministry and attended seminary at Candler School of Theology where he received a Masters of Divinity. He later received a Doctor of Ministry from Drew Theological School. Dave served several churches in North Georgia included Roswell UMC and Kingswood UMC in Dunwoody before coming to be the Senior Pastor at Birmingham in June of 2008. He is married to Theresa and they have two grown children, Chris and Anna.

When I'm not at church or with my family, I enjoy... reading, watching movies, playing guitar, hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Julie Boone, Executive Pastor
Julie grew up in Southern California making her way to Atlanta via Denver Colorado in 1999. Julie is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. During that time, she had the pleasure of studying French for a year at La Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. Julie has worn many career "hats" working as a French tutor, au pair, reporter and stay at home mom. In 2005, Julie answered her call into the Ordained Ministry and entered Candler School of Theology receiving her Master of Divinity.  Julie served as an intern at Mt. Carmel UMC in Norcross and the Decatur Cooperative Ministry. She also served as Pastor of Invite at Johns Creek UMC before coming to Birmingham UMC in 2008. Julie and her husband Ted have 2 children Eddie and Nate.
